As a Diagnostic Imaging Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic general radiological procedures, including Cat Scan and C-arm units. Additionally, you will conduct general, OB and some vascular Ultrasound, and may also be involved in breast Ultrasound. Your duties will involve screening, scheduling, and directing patients to appropriate locations and services within the Imaging Department. In addition, you will maintain a working knowledge of all Radiology and Vascular / Cardiac U/S exams and procedures and assist with the training of new staff. Proficiency in scheduling all Radiology and Vascular / Cardiac U/S exams is essential.

  • Perform routine and complex sonography imaging by acquiring and processing patient exams in accordance with accrediting bodies and department protocols.
  • Review radiology orders for completeness and accuracy, and review patient history and clinical data for medical necessity. Take steps to acquire additional information if needed.
  • Demonstrate acceptable imaging quality standards and transfer and verify image data in PACS and other digital and reporting systems.
  • Responsible for maintaining imaging equipment and workplace environment, including recognizing malfunctions and service needs and reporting them in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the instruction of students and new staff as necessary, and maintain productivity levels as established by department benchmarking.
