Position: Associate Professor - Osteopathic Medicine

Location: Davie-Fort Lauderdale Campus

Responsibilities:

This job description outlines the responsibilities of our Faculty - Public Health at K. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Demonstrates high-quality instruction and mentoring to undergraduate students enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Public Health program. Collaborates with Dean and colleagues to improve student's learning experience and engagement at NSU and in the College of Osteopathic Medicine.

  • Teaches the equivalent of eight course sections per year in the Department of Public Health.
  • Design curriculum and/or program development, as assigned.
  • Select teaching and evaluation strategies appropriate to students.
  • Arranges classes to correspond with curriculum, program, and course outcomes.
  • Provides perspectives that include a respect for diverse views; responds to student inquiries.
  • Provides and maintains office hours for student mentoring, tutoring, remediation, and consultation.
  • Participates in department, college, and University committees and meetings.
  • Maintains the mission of the college by demonstrating flexibility in the scheduling of courses, supervision, or committee meetings.
  • Participates in state and/or local community service that is a recognized form of career development.
  • Advises students enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Public Health program.
  • Participates in student recruitment activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Required Qualifications:

1. At least 8 to 10 years of related experience and/or training, including research or equivalent combination of education and experience.

2. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals.

Education: Master's Degree

Preferred Qualifications: Doctoral or terminal degree.
