What we do: The Cash and Custody Function engages in critical operations on behalf of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and the Federal Reserve System including the distribution of U.S. Dollar Currency to the Second District, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin islands & international customers, as well as Gold Safekeeping Operations. Reporting directly to the Head of Cash & Custody Strategy and Stakeholder Engagement, you will work collaboratively with other leaders and stakeholders across the Bank, Federal Reserve System & US Government agencies as a broad and influential change agent. Your role Data Strategy and Analytics Specialist: As a Strategy and Business Analytics Specialist, you will be part of a high-performing team that advances 2nd District and international U.S. Dollar currency distribution capability and Gold Safekeeping Operations through the following activities: Participate in the design, creation, validation, and analysis of emerging and ongoing reports and dashboards to guide important decisions Develop intuitive dashboards and data visualization products using Tableau and other business intelligence tools Design, develop, test, and deploy solutions built in Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate Champion processes and procedures across the organization Translate business requirements into technical requirements to ensure solutions meet business needs Explore, extract, cleanse and combine data from multiple sources and systems Help improve data quality, and build monitoring tools and issue alerts Collaborate cross-functionally to gather requirements, design and implement end-to-end solutions, and investigate new technologies to improve data pipelines and support business enablement Lead dashboard demo sessions, develop training materials, and produce dashboard documentation Select, collect, and analyze data to find root causes of performance issues; identify trends and process variations that lead to continuous improvement opportunities Conduct regular briefings with managers and senior stakeholders Support business innovation by researching, analyzing, and evaluating new technologies and by ideating on creative and practical applications of technology solutions What we are looking for: Experience building visualizations and dashboards to help tell a story behind the data Data querying and analytical software skills (e.g., SQL, R, SAS, Tableau, Python, and Power BI) Experience with UiPath and/or other Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools, and light no-code workflow applications Knowledge of information design principles and data visualization methods Experience identifying process improvement opportunities and supporting data solutions Interest in learning the System applications that support the national cash business line (FedWeb, FedCash Central, EMS & OpNet) Interest in learning new data visualization tools such as Looker and Einstein Analytics to analyze results, evaluate performance, and project future trends and needs Demonstrated experience in large scale critical operations, ideally within a complex, mission-driven organization; focus on continuous improvement methodologies a plus Demonstrated ability to effectively lead multiple initiatives simultaneously to drive and deliver results while potentially navigating competing priorities Demonstrated ability to organize, simplify, harmonize, and resolve ambiguity Ability to structure and distill complex problems into easily digestible insights, solutions, and recommendations Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, propose, design, develop, and implement creative solutions to challenges in the business environment Ability to quickly assimilate new information, handle new problem situations, and manage a variety of responsibilities simultaneously Process design & optimization Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Emotional intelligence, including the ability to build trust in a variety of relationships through candor, reliability, and authenticity as well as the capacity to embrace and draw from diversity and inclusion to improve the quality of outcomes.
