What We Offer

The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The salary range for this position is $24.11-$36.17, however the target hiring range is $24.11-$30.14. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:
  • A guaranteed life-long monthly pension, once vested after 5 years of service

  • 140 hours of PTO earned within first year + 11 paid holidays, 1 personal holiday and 1 volunteer day per year

Location

The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed. In this position you can expect to work in person 4 days a week, with 1 day working from home . You may work from any of the Neighborhood Resource Sites. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.

Neighborhood Resource Site Program Experts are considered subject matter experts in eligibility and public assistance programming. Denver Human Services (DHS) is seeking an individual who will work with laws, rules, regulations, computer systems and general practices. They will have the desire to make a difference in our communities in the greatest need, throughout our city.

Neighborhood Resource Site Program Expert will be expected to:
  • Provide in-person and same day service to clients newly applying for benefits and/or recertifying their existing benefits as needed
  • Provide coverage for other Neighborhood Resource Sites as needed
  • Exhibit agility and fluidity in navigating their interactions with clients to meet the clients where they are
  • Show tact, compassion, and comfort in working with clients from a variety of backgrounds who may be experiencing difficult circumstances
  • Work with a high level of independence, productivity, and quality when processing cases and daily work

Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:
  • Have a passion for working in community and exhibit a strong desire to work with vulnerable, at-risk populations
  • Be technically savvy and willing to learn new technology or software
  • Have high levels of productivity and quality in processing eligibility cases including cash programs - have Adult financial or Colorado works program knowledge
  • Be comfortable and proficient in troubleshooting cases and navigating through CBMS
  • Be proficient with system interfaces
  • Be fluid and adjust to the ever-changing work flow
  • Have a proven record of professionalism and ability to be consistent in delivering on the mission of the division
Required Minimum Qualifications
  • Education requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
  • Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of experience determining eligibility for a variety of public assistance programs.
  • Education/Experience Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirement.
  • License/Certifications: None
