Position Overview:

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Customer Relations Specialist to join our team at [Company Name], a leading machine and fabrication metal shop. This role will focus on purchasing, quoting, and collaborating with management to enhance our customer service and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have experience with ERP systems, data entry, and inventory management, as well as a strong understanding of procurement strategies and quality assurance in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Customer Interaction:
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers, handling inquiries and resolving issues related to orders, pricing, and specifications for fabricated metal products.
  • Assist in preparation of quotes based on customer requirements and internal cost structures.
  • ERP Management:
  • Enter customer orders and schedule due dates within the ERP system, ensuring timely processing and communication with production teams.
  • Build routers in the ERP system based on customer prints and specifications, ensuring accurate routing for fabrication processes.
  • Conduct data entry into ERP and Excel spreadsheets, maintaining precise records of customer transactions, quotes, and inventory levels.
  • Collaboration with Management:
  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement effective procurement strategies that optimize supplier relationships and reduce costs.
  • Work with engineering and production teams to ensure customer requirements are met and communicated effectively.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Monitor and maintain quality standards for products, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct regular reviews of processes related to order entry and procurement to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Supplier and Inventory Management:
  • Assist in managing supplier relationships, evaluating performance, and negotiating costs to support procurement strategies.
  • Help maintain accurate inventory levels, ensuring timely restocking and minimal disruptions in production.
  • Purchasing:
  • Monitor and maintain tool crib inventory levels
  • Create purchase orders
  • Monitor and maintain steel inventory levels

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in customer relations, purchasing, or a similar role within a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (experience with [specific ERP software, if applicable]) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage data and generate reports.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality assurance.
