Able to room patients in accordance to provider schedule in timely mannerAccurately obtains and records patient vital signs, height and weightAble to document information in appropriate place in chartEnsures accurate maintenance of patient's medical records and that patient records are treated as confidential information both paper records and electronicFollowing departmental standards, completes records promptly, recording all necessary informationPrepares patient for scheduled visit, assists in outpatient assessment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, or PhysicianEffectively identifies predictable problems and plans and provides patient careCompletes vital signs, medication reconciliation, patient family and social history, chief complaintDocuments to update patient recordsPrepares written paper and electronic documentation as required by the professionReviews medical record to assure all previously ordered test results, lab/x-ray findings are present in the recordAssists LPN, RN, NP, and/or Physician with diagnostic / therapeutic procedures, examinations and/or treatment for patients as appropriatePossesses knowledge of medical terminology.Communicates well with office patients and staffFollows up on all recorded messages left on the answering machine or voice mail.Ensures messages are retrieved every 30 minutes.Provides accurate and legible documentation of patient message to staff and/or providers.Demonstrates basic knowledge of insurance plans, billing and benefits and working knowledge of business office protocols.Ability to communicate basic insurance policies and proceduresObtains lab specimens per Physician/NP ordersOrients, instructs, and trains assigned personnel working in the office as directed by Office ManagerAssists with the orientation, instruction and training of assigned personnel.Serves as a resource to co-workersAble to be flexible to change job duties from clinical to operational in accordance to office needsAble to check in patient to office obtaining appropriate information needed for demographic requirementsAble to check out patient assisting with follow up appointments, referrals, etc.Able to check Healthenet for insurance eligibilityEnsures compliance with quality improvement policies, procedures and studies.Assists in maintaining a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patient/families in accordance with office standards.Exhibits expertise and skill in understanding, meeting and satisfying the specific needs and behavior of the patient in all age groups.Communicates effectively based on the age of the attitude of cooperation and professionalism.
