What to expect:
You will be part of a global inspection team assuring quality of components and assemblies that this global aerospace leader is sourcing from one or more suppliers in this area. Once on the team, you will be deployed through SQA's operations center based on client need and each supplier's production schedule.
What you'll do:
You will be conducting precision mechanical inspection at various client suppliers primarily in the Chicago, IL area.
What you'll need:
For this role, you must have CMM experience (but not necessarily CMM programming experience). Because of the nature of the products, US Citizenship is also a requirement and background checks are required.
As a Level 2 Inspector, you will have industry experience (4 or more years) and the ability to independently establish criteria with limited guidance. You should possess experience within a technical discipline or extensive technical training. This position requires visual acuity and the ability to detect defects on highly complex products, verify documentation packages to industry/commodity specific standards, classify defect types, and verify rework conducted during the time of the inspection. You will also be able to read and interpret standard manufacturing drawings based on industry and commodity standards. Note: Mechanical inspectors at this level are capable of validating dimensions (total tolerances >/=.005" with Minimal GD&T validation) utilizing standard hand tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gages).
$28 - $32 an hour
Hourly rate while on site or working remotely (i.e. completing or modifying reports)
Minimum 4 hours per day if deployed (i.e. "4 hour minimum")
50% hourly rate for any travel time (i.e. "p2p")
Mileage reimbursement at US gov't rate ($0.655 per mile driven). Untaxed.
