Job Function
Reporting into the Color Science Manager, the Color Science POS Technical Lead will be based out of Ashtabula and will provide technical leadership and direction throughout the organization in relation to the Pearls product and similar technologies. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the successful design, development, and implementation of technical projects, while fostering a collaborative and efficient team environment.
Responsibilities

  • Possess in-depth knowledge of coatings technologies and Pearls Product and stay up to date on industry trends and best practices.
  • Support the development process by defining customer specific technical requirements, understanding the market needs, and proposing solutions through the ideation funnel.
  • Provide in-depth product knowledge while working alongside cross-functional teams.
  • Be the go-to-person for Pearls technology related questions for both internal and external clients.
  • Provide in-depth training, presentations, and workshops related to Pearls for internal and external clients.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues and identify solutions.
  • Building, optimizing, and delivering databases and color collections.
  • Implementation of both the colorants and the color databases/collections in the customer's equipment and software.
  • Advising and training customers regarding the use of colorants and Innovatint software.
  • Break down projects into manageable tasks and create timelines for completion.
  • Estimate project effort and resources required for successful completion.
  • Manage project risks and develop contingency plans.
  • Track project progress and report to stakeholders.
  • Proactively source and manage supplies from both internal and external vendors to ensure timely project completion.
  • Mentor and coach team members, fostering their technical growth and development.
  • Effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., management, operations, customer service, etc.) to ensure project alignment.
  • Liaise with clients or stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into technical requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Pearls Business Development Manager to identify customer targets and plan travel accordingly.
  • Ability to travel 40-50% of the time, often with short notice.
Required Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in technical field (Engineering, Chemistry, or related field) required.
  • 4+ years of experience in customer-facing roles, with a focus on coatings technical and tinting systems
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with customers.
  • Global experience, preferred.
  • Knowledge of market and its applications is desired.
