Other duties may be assigned.<br> <br> <b>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</b> <br> <ul> <li> <b>These transfer and Set Eggs (30%)</b></li></ul>Grade eggs, candle eggs, pull contaminated eggs pre transfer, monitor temperatures in setter, record egg weights<br> <ul> <li> <b>These hatch chicks (30%) </b></li></ul>Grade for chick quality and genetic defects, feather chicks for line purity, put identification bands in pedigree chicks, vaccinate chicks, monitor temperatures in hatchers, deliver chicks to correct Brood House<br> <ul> <li> <b>These clean and sanitize processing areas and equipment (20%)</b></li></ul>Clean egg storage rooms, take weekly swabs to check for cleanliness, clean hatchers and setters weekly, clean all rooms, doors, and processing equipment<br> <ul> <li> <b>These prepare shipping eggs for transfer and special orders (10%)</b> <br> </li></ul> <b>Other Duties, Responsibilities, and Activities:</b> <br> <ul> <li>These may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice, such as: Maintain and assist with housekeeping standards in the working areas; inspect birds to determine quality and progress by weighing birds weekly; sanitation of storage areas, breakroom, boot rooms, equipment, and vehicles, cleaning incinerators; moving birds, grounds-keeping and organizing breeder tags; properly euthanize selected or weak/ill birds in accordance with company policy; Assisting Egg Facility with daily duties, Be able to read and complete hatch sheets, weigh sheets, run the tablet as needed, Operate a high pressure and regular water hose, maintains foot pans and hand sanitizer, wash trays and baskets, maintains a clean and organized work area <b>(10%)</b></li></ul> <br> <b>Biosecurity/Animal Welfare Requirements:</b> <br> <ul> <li>The jobsite is a biosecure environment which requires showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility. Appropriate clothing and footwear is provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry and body piercings covered by appropriate clothing. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.). Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and company Animal Welfare Guidelines.</li></ul> <br> <b>Physical Demands and Work Environment </b> <br> <ul> <li>Physical: Must use safe lifting techniques. Must regularly lift and stack chick boxes weighing up to <b>12 pounds</b> and will be required to lift and stack egg boxes weighing up to <b>50 pounds</b>. Will occasionally be required to <b>pull/push 500 to 1000 pounds (wheeled carts)</b>. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand majority of shift (concrete floor); walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus.</li></ul> <ul> <li>Tools and Equipment: tablet, tray wash & syringes</li></ul> <ul> <li>Environment: Required to work on wet, slippery surfaces and also in hot, dry, dusty, wet and cold environments.</li> <li>Personal Protective Equipment Required: Safety goggles, safety glasses, face shield, chemical gloves, waterproof apron, and rubber boots are required. Ear plugs will be used as needed. NIOSH approved N95 particulate respirators will be worn as needed.</li> <li>Chemicals Commonly Used: Formaldehyde, disinfectants, sanitizers, and lubricants.</li> <li>Safety: TM is expected to follow all applicable safety policies and procedures. These include but are not limited to Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, LOTO and Personal Protective Equipment.
