Your Role: Clinical Site Veterinarian
As a Clinical Veterinarian Advisor , you will provide critical technical resources and leadership for the clinical site teams. You will ensure veterinary expertise in experimental design, protocol execution, regulatory compliance, veterinary diagnostics, treatment, gross pathology, and emergency care.
Your Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and guidance to clinical personnel, performing study-related procedures, observations, sample collection, and data collection.
  • Implement emergency treatments, animal evaluations, and appropriate disposition activities, while supporting herd/colony health monitoring.
  • Execute and train basic and advanced clinical techniques to study execution associates, maintaining current veterinary knowledge through professional organizations, continuing education, and external collaborators.
  • Consult on clinical, operational, and animal welfare components in study protocol development for clinical trials, ensuring compliance with USDA regulations, the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals, and AAALAC standards.
  • Support R&D, QC, and Reference Requalification clinical activities by coordinating weekly clinical tasks, interacting with leading scientists, and authorities, as well as, design, implement, and monitor biosecurity and biocontainment procedures in collaboration with the Animal Welfare Veterinarian, actively participating in new facility design and renovations.
What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):
  • Education: DVM required, current license to practice in the United States.
  • Required Experience: Strong field and laboratory clinical skills.
  • Top 2 skills: Veterinarian experience and a strong ability to work both independently and in multi-disciplinary teams.
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (preferred qualifications):
  • Licensed and accredited veterinarian in the state of Iowa.
  • Experience with USDA regulations, the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals, and the Guide for the Care and Use of Agricultural Animals in Research and Teaching.
  • 3+ years working in an Animal Welfare-regulated environment or working in the Animal Health industry with pre-clinical and clinical model understanding.
