Clinical Coordinator - RN - Surgical Prehabilitation

Our Surgical Services team is seeking a Clinical Coordinator - RN. This position centers around patient education and outreach to prepare patients for surgery.

The coordinator uses advanced nursing processes in decision-making, patient assessment, data analysis, development and implementation of methods and systems to improve the overall quality and efficiency of patient care for the designated department and population served. Provides direct and indirect patient care as needed; oversees the delivery of patient care; and provides day to day management of programs to coordinate patient care as designated by the department. Coordinates the delivery of safe, high quality patient care; identifies areas for study; and participates in and/or supports research. Works in compliance with all State, Federal, and other regulatory requirements. Serves as a resource and mentor to staff and team members.

What We Require:

Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required. Bachelor’s degree Preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years RN experience required. At least 2 years experience in relevant specialty or department, as defined by the department, desired. (ex: hospital setting, vascular, rehab, long term care, home health, cardiology, ambulatory, surgery)

Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Current VA RN license required. Must successfully complete orientation and competency requirement. BLS-HCP required within 1 year of hire or at time of hire

Other Minimum Qualifications: Effective interpersonal, communication, and team-working skills required. Strong critical thinking, conflict resolution, organization and effective judgement abilities required. Must successfully complete orientation and competency validation requirements. Must be able to meet essential job functions.
