Abonmarche is seeking a Land Development Civil Engineer in our Grand Haven, MI office.
Job Summary:
The Civil Engineer specializing in land development will possess strong technical expertise and a comprehensive understanding of land development processes, from conceptual design to construction and project completion. This role involves collaboration with a diverse team of professionals to ensure the successful planning, design, and implementation of land development projects.
Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for potential land development projects.
  • Develop conceptual and detailed designs for residential, commercial, and industrial land development projects.
  • Prepare and review engineering plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Prepare and submit permit applications and work closely with regulatory agencies to obtain necessary approvals.
  • Design and oversee the construction of infrastructure components such as roads, utilities, drainage, and grading. Develop stormwater management plans and ensure proper drainage solutions are implemented.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress, ensure compliance with design specifications, and address any on-site issues or changes during construction.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
  • Registered Professional Engineer in Michigan
Work Experience/Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of related experience in civil engineering
  • Experience in land development with a strong understanding of land development processes and site design principles
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or with a team
  • Good verbal and written skills
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Microsoft Suite programs

Work Environment:
Typical office environment with some work performed outside on a project site. May be exposed to extreme temperatures. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety boots/shoes, hard hat, safety vest, etc.
