Position Specific Performance Expectations:
- Record patients' current status, past medical history, vaccine status, vital statistics, and medication reconciliation in preparation for provider visit in EMR.
- Respects the confidentiality of patient records, and uses complete discretion when discussing patient information in accordance to HIPPA.
- Utilizes all department forms and documents in EMRs appropriately.
- Collect, label and transport all specimens appropriately.
- Demonstrates proper techniques when setting up for procedures.
- Demonstrates knowledge of emergency and routine equipment and procedures.
- Collaborates with patient care planning. Actively participates in education specific to patient diagnosis and needs.
- Assists providers with special tests and procedures.
- Demonstrates an ability to start IVs and monitor IV fluids for correct rate.
- Able to assess every patient for safety, medication dosage appropriateness and other needs.
- Accurately administers medication, performs treatment in accordance of standards of care. Translates medications into pediatric doses and use proper equipment for patient's size and age.
- Able to identify victims and the process for reporting abuse.
- Maintains compliance within department, clinic and state and federal regulations and policies.
- Record all phone interactions with patients in the EMR. Working knowledge of phone and phone etiquette.
- Properly care for instruments i.e. cleaning, packaging, sterilizing as appropriate.
- Participates in mandatory in-services and attends staff meetings.
- Follows MRH policy and procedures.
- Demonstrates knowledge of emergency preparedness and participates in drills.
- Acts as a resource person to other staff members.
- Positive and supportive team member to staff members and other departments within the organization.
- Participates in process improvement teams or in interdepartmental efforts.
- Act as a liaison between patients, families, providers and staff.
- Complete workload as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Floats to other clinical departments as assigned.
- General Surgery Specialty: Wound Certification within six months of date of hire or transfer.
- Breath Alcohol testing and Drug screen testing requires special training only personnel who have completed training shall perform these procedures.

- Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
- Upholds regulatory requirements to ensure continual compliance with departmental, hospital, state and federal regulations and policies.

- Completes annual education, training, in-service, and licensure/certification requirements; attends departmental and organizational staff meetings or reads meeting minutes.
- Reports to work on time and as scheduled; completes work within designated timeframes.
- Establishes and maintains effective verbal and written communication and good working relationships with all patients, staff and vendors.
- Utilizes initiative; strives to maintain steady level of productivity; self-motivated; manages activity and time.
- Actively participates in departmental and facility performance improvement and continuous quality initiatives.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be at least 16 years of age (21 for driving positions).
- Must be able to legally work in the United States.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and breath alcohol test (if applicable).
- Must complete employee health meeting.
- Current Unencumbered Colorado RN license or Compact License.
- Current BLS certification (must be obtained within 90 days of hire).
- One year clinic experience preferred.
