THE SCHOOL BOARD OF HIGHLANDS COUNTY

POSITION TITLE: Clerk

ASSIGNMENT: Clerk 3 - Human Resources/Application Desk

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent
  2. Three (3) years experience in a clerical, secretarial or administrative assistant position
  3. Physical Requirements: Ability to perform essential functions and tasks which may include exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 pounds of force as frequently as necessary; lifting, crawling, kneeling, bending, stooping, pulling, and pushing, if required.
  4. Satisfactory clearance of a criminal history records check and drug screening


ADDITIONAL DESIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Demonstrates skill in use of office equipment, including computers
  2. Customer-service oriented
  3. Professional communication skills
  4. High level organizational/time management skills

PRIMARY PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Serves as liaison with applicants and provides applicant services through Skyward
  2. Processes applications, making sure the application file is complete, and notifies applicants of missing items and outdated material in the file
  3. Assists with fingerprinting of existing employees to meet statutory requirements; reviews Criminal History reports and consults with Director/Manager of Human Resources when needed
  4. Initiates and processes fingerprinting of newly hired district employees and interns. Generates and processes FDLE reports for Criminal History check. Receives and reviews criminal histories and reports to Director/Manager of Human Resources; maintains accurate and confidential records regarding the reports and additional relative information
  5. Serves as receptionist in the office
  6. Processes fingerprinting of school board approved volunteers
  7. Files documents as needed
  8. Processes employee recommendation forms (ERFs) and archives job vacancies
  9. Schedules and directs appropriate applicant testing to meet job description and position vacancy requirements
  10. Facilitates Educational Impact and RIVS digital interview software and technology issues
  11. Files all confidential reports, and provides backup for HR Personnel Onboarding Services Clerks
  12. Serves as back-up to other HR Clerks and Switchboard Operator, when necessary
  13. Attends department staff meetings
  14. Participates in applicable/relevant professional development opportunities to enhance job performance
  15. Performs all other duties as requested by Director/Manager

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

Performs all other duties as assigned by the supervising administrator

TERM:

Length of contract and number of hours worked are determined by specific allocation as approved annually during planning-budgeting process

APPRAISAL:

Performance will be appraised annually in accordance with School Board Policy

PAYGRADE:

According to the School Board of Highlands County Non-instructional Salary Schedule
