The

Manufacturing Engineering Manager

will plan, organize and manage the Manufacturing Engineering and Technical Support functions providing engineering direction for the Assembly and Manufacturing Process. Focus will be on manufacturing systems, processes, standards, tooling, all designed to attain maximum production efficiency, at high-quality standards in the most cost-effective manner. The Nuts and Bolts Provide day-to-day direction to Manufacturing Engineering Department Provide management reports that track performance to either short-term or long-term goals Participate in the VSM and Kaizen activities including creation of visual indicators of operating conditions Develop, design, specify, test and maintain records for production equipment, tooling, gauges, jigs, and fixtures to optimize manufacturing process, including safety, quality and efficiency by studying product requirements and applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work-flow, space requirements, and equipment layout Develop capital equipment requests (CAPEX’s) for assembly and manufacturing projects Project manage assembly and manufacturing projects Design and analyze labor and space requirements, product design, quality requirements, workflow, layout of equipment and workspace to maximize efficiency, consistency and effectiveness of manufacturing and assembly operations and projects Work with maintenance team and outside contractors to improve the performance of current equipment and processes, improve performance, and minimize equipment downtime Keep the leadership regularly updated of the key metrics and progress of each project Required Credentials Ten plus (10+) years of experience in truck body or other similar

sheet metal fabrication industry

is strongly preferred Experience

leading a team

of manufacturing / industrial / technical support engineers and providing maintenance and facilities support Experience in

launching production lines

and specifying automated processes Experience with DFM, DFMEA, and PFMEA and their applications is preferred Experience with Lean Manufacturing is preferred Must demonstrate

ability to influence
