The Nursing Assistant assists nursing staff in providing patient care, to include procedures that monitor body functions, transportation and movement of patients, set-up and maintenance of equipment, maintaining sanitary and neat conditions as other related duties. Location: Roseau hospital campus
Shift: 12-hour days and night shifts.
Job Schedule: 7:00am to 7:30pm and/or 7:00pm to 7:30am.
Hours: 36hrs/week
FTE: .9
Weekends: rotating
Holidays: rotating
Pay: $19.00 to $24.70 USD
What you'll get to do in this role:
Provides for activities of daily living by assisting with serving meals, feeding patients as necessary and ambulating, turning, and positioning patients; and providing fresh water and nourishment between meals.
Provides adjunct care by administering, ice packs, heat treatments, sitz and therapeutic baths
Watches for and reports early changes in patient condition to nurse.
Maintains patient stability by checking vital signs and weight, recording intake and output information.
Provides patient comfort by utilizing resources and materials; transporting patients; answering patients' call lights and requests; and reporting observations of the patient to the RN/LPN
Maintains confidentiality of patient information
Understands facility infection prevention and control policies and procedures and demonstrates proper hand hygiene, transmission-based precautions, standard precautions, equipment and environmental cleaning
Adheres to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures; federal, state, and local requirements; and JCAHO standards.
Collect specimens and transport to lab.
Accurately documents ADLs, tasks, and observations in the HER

You're an excellent fit, if you have:
- 2 or more experience working as a CNA, preferred
- experience with use of electronic medical record, preferred
- completion of nurse aide training program and active on the MN nursing assistant registry
- BLS certification
- basic knowledge of medical terminology
- excellent multi-tasking and prioritizing skills
- excellent communication & interpersonal skills
- ability to work well with others
- good critical thinking skills
