Job Description
The Staff Pad is partnering with Blue Ridge Medical Center in Blue Ridge, GA to fill the position of Medical Office Assistant . This role offers a blend of clinical and clerical responsibilities, supporting both patient care and administrative tasks.
Position Overview: M-Friday 8AM-5PM
The Medical Office Assistant will be responsible for performing patient care activities and handling clerical functions to support efficient clinic operations. This role involves working directly with patients, healthcare providers, and clinic staff to ensure a positive patient experience.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate patient care by rooming patients, taking medical histories, obtaining vital signs, and recording/updating patient information in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures.
  • Administer injections, perform EKGs, wound care, and other in-office testing as required.
  • Schedule patient appointments, provide financial counseling, and verify insurance information.
  • Answer and triage phone calls, assist with patient referrals, and ensure timely follow-up.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked exam rooms and equipment.
  • Perform clerical duties such as processing paperwork, verifying patient information, and managing electronic files in systems like AthenaClinicals.
Requirements
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Diploma from an accredited technical school for Medical Assisting.
  • At least one year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical office setting preferred.
  • Certification or relevant comparable experience required, including current CPR certification (must be completed within two weeks of hire).
  • Ability to follow directions, manage time effectively, and handle stress in a clinical environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive patient interactions tactfully and respectfully.
Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent walking, standing, bending, and lifting (up to 50 lbs).
  • Ability to handle various physical demands in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
