Job Description

The Child Life Specialist reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides therapeutic, developmental, recreational and diversional play activities for pediatric patients.
  • Supports the child's development of personal coping strategies to enhance adjustment to the hospital experience and enhance normal growth and development.
Qualifications

Required:

  • One to two years of experience as a Child Life Specialist preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Hospital Play Education, Child Development or Psychology
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Basic computer knowledge

Preferred:

  • Additional languages
  • Master's Degree in Child Development
