  • Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurses provide care for patients who require close monitoring and frequent assessment
  • The PCU RN will monitor critical vital signs and detect any changes
  • The care delivered to patients whose needs are less acute with decreased risk of a life-threatening event
  • The PCU RN cares for patients as they transition from the ICU
  • Progressive care describes the care delivered to patients whose needs are less acute
  • A decreased risk of a life-threatening event, decreased need for invasive monitoring, increased stability and an increased ability to participate in their own care are characteristics of the progressive care patient
    Job Requirements
  • BLS and ACLS required
  • Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurses should demonstrate competencies like basic and advanced life support, dysrhythmia monitoring techniques, medication dosage calculation, patient monitoring, hemodynamic monitoring, interpretation of ABGs, assessment of the ventilated patient, and recognition and management of various patient care interventions
    Schedule Information
  • Night Shift, 3x12 hour shifts
  • Weekends (EOW) and Holiday rotation as needed by the unit

  • Care unit is the Progress Care IMCU - Intermediate Care Unit
  • The Progressive Care Unit can also be known as Cardiac Stepdown, Neuro Stepdown, Medical Stepdown, Surgical Stepdown, and ER holding
  • The Progressive Care Unit is where patients transition from the ICU
  • Primary responsibilities include close monitoring of vital signs, intervention in life-threatening or emergency situations, and support in transition from hospital to home

  • WELLSPAN WILL NOT CONSIDER CANDIDATES THAT HAVE HAD LICENSE SUSPENDED ANYTIME IN THE PAST
  • All time off and scheduling requests must be included in the submission
  • Candidates cannot be considered if they have been employed as a perm hire at any WellSpan site within the year
