Position summary:
Program robots and PLC controlled equipment to complete testing on automotive and powersports products to validate performance, reliability and electrical systems. Coordinate efforts within the Testing Services Section and between other TS Tech groups, customers and suppliers during the product testing process. Have a basic level of understanding of automotive products and applications and relevant engineering problem solving experience. Ensure that the final test reports meet or exceed customer and/or internal requirements. Identify and solve problems that arise with the testing process. Work alongside other engineers within the section.
Qualifications/Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical/work experience
  • 2 year minimum experience in robot programming (FANUC preferred)
  • Basic understanding of PLC, Equipment Automation, HMI code, Electrical Schematics, Pneumatics and Hydraulics
  • Basic understanding of physics including Statics, Dynamics and Kinematics
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Basic understanding of testing methods and product quality, cost, and delivery
  • Basic knowledge of automotive products and applications.
  • Strong organization skills
  • Ability to apply PDCA cycle

Specific Job Requirements
  • Testing Process Control
    • Setup and run test modes using various automation equipment including FANUC robots and PLC controlled testers.
    • Coordinate test methodology and deliverables between test requester and testing technicians
    • Effectively schedule and plan upcoming testing activities and resources including man power, equipment and other resources
    • Ensure the quality of test data with emphasis on man, method and machine
    • Confirm test execution meets or exceeds customer expectations
    • Responsible for final report generation and technical content
    • Supports the efforts of the department in meeting internal and external policies and procedures including ISO 9001 / 17025.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Support the development and proposal of reoccurrence prevention methods
    • Seek out, understand and communicate new or revised regulations and requirements
    • Supports in the development of new equipment and methods
