or call us at 1 (800) 585-3084 Option 3 The Senior Manager of Quality Operations will manage with a strong sense of quality ownership, strategic thinking, and the drive to identify functional problems and develop creative solutions while assuring industry standards are achieved through continuous improvements. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Ensures the appropriate inspections and tests are performed. Investigates internal manufacturing related customer escapes and drives root cause and corrective action to closure. Develops the strategic direction, mission and vision for the Quality organization that supports MSI’s overall organizational strategic direction, mission and vision. Ensures the products and factory processes are within specification. Maintains the calibration system. Directs activities to identify, define, and resolve quality problems. Uses Corrective Actions to drive change. Ensure compliance with applicable military and industry standards and specifications Recommend and assist in the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining AS91000 program as well as specific procedures and the adherence thereto Oversee the Statistical Process Control program Manage the Customer Furnished Property Control program Perform long range planning to assure work flow and manning are balanced as effectively as possible Review contracts and purchase orders for quality requirements Perform on site evaluations, surveys and audits of vendor and sub-contractor quality systems, and production capabilities Review designs, engineering changes and related documents for conformance to quality requirements Prepare letters, reports, presentations and briefings on quality-related matters for customers and management Interface with customer Quality Assurance Representatives for scheduling of shipments, quality audits, and corrective actions Ensures quality system improvement projects are completed on time and within budget. Develops, maintains, and monitors performance metrics that support the company’s goals/objectives. Defines company actions to be taken and ensures implementation through the appropriate company functional organizations. Leads and facilitates cross-functional teams to solve quality system problems. Executes action plans and initiates activity to reflect implementation of policy, specifications and standards. Promotes a culture of quality awareness. Serves as a change agent for affecting a cultural shift in the way quality is implemented. Performs independently and on own initiative with minimum supervision. Exhibits sound interpersonal skills involving interfacing, coordinating and negotiating with company personnel, customers and suppliers. Analyzes potential future needs and develops time-phased plans to acquire personnel, technology and equipment to support anticipated quality system improvements. Hires, counsels, trains, develops and evaluates performance of quality team members. Ability to read and interpret design drawings, schematics and military specifications Ability to close open actions in a timely manner and drive personnel teams to meet deadlines Ability to organize and communicate the efforts required to accomplish the quality management system process Ability to manage and lead others Ability to multi task and pay attention to detail EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: BS in Industrial Management or related technical field plus 5 years of experience managing in electronics manufacturing or comparable industry preferred 8 years managing in electronics manufacturing may be substituted for degree Working knowledge of applicable industrial and military standards and specifications Experience conducting training and troubleshooting process problems strongly preferred Working knowledge of AS9100 and MIL-STD strongly preferred Effective computer, analytical and mathematical skills Process improvement / problem solving experience, i.e. CMMI, Lean, Six Sigma, DMAIC, 8D is desired Statistical Process Control (SPC) experience is desired US citizenship, in order to potentially obtain / maintain a clearance of the proper level WORK ENVIROMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Office with occasional manufacturing environment Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time Ability to perform repetitive motion, i.e. keyboarding Ability to lift up to 25 pounds May be exposed to possible shop hazards including high noise level, high pressure equipment, chemicals, and shop traffic. 20/20 vision and color vision with or without corrective lenses THE ABOVE STATEMENTS ARE INTENDED TO DESCRIBE THE GENERAL NATURE AND LEVEL OF WORK BEING PERFORMED BY INDIVIDUALS ASSIGNED TO THIS CLASSIFICATION.
