Job Description
Amphibious Medics is currently hiring licensed Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioner for Full Time and Per Diem as Advanced Practice Providers.

JOB DESCRIPTION for APP
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is responsible for the evaluation and treatment of patients with acute and/or chronic discomfort secondary to illness or traumatic injury, within the resources and confines of the on-site clinic. This includes an interview of the patient, reviewing the patient's medical/surgical history, medications/allergies, performing a physical evaluation, and composing a differential diagnosis list with the aim of an eventual diagnosis. All services are practiced within the scope of the APP, and emergent/urgent consultation with the Amphibious Medics medical director is encouraged when necessary. The APP is a construction site medical representative that works independently with limited supervision. This includes, but is not limited to working in a first aid capacity for injured workers, analyzing tasks for potential safety hazards, implementing and participating in a
site Health & Wellness program, and participating in the workers compensation process.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
  • Obtains appropriate medical history and physical data on patients. Reviews existing patient records.
  • Interprets and integrates data.
  • Performs appropriate level of physical exam and documents findings.
  • Establishes a Differential Diagnosis list.
  • Rarely, and in conjunction with a mandatory consultation with the Amphibious Medics medical director, will order off-campus laboratory and diagnostic procedures.
  • Synthesizes data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan.
  • Administers medication and manages medication as necessary.
  • Instructs patient and family regarding medications, treatment instructions, and possible outcomes to monitor.
  • Consult appropriately with the Amphibious Medics medical director.
  • Ensures the Amphibious Medics medical director is kept informed of any unusual or significant findings concerning their patients.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned consistent with professional credentials.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Triage patient phone calls when needed.
  • Provide triage, first aid and/or a referral to outside medical provider, if indicated
  • Attends required medical and multidisciplinary meetings and training.
  • Participates in committees if requested.
  • Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
  • Help coordinate an annual, semi-annual, or quarterly onsite health fair • Participate in frequent medical and safety awareness meetings with construction workers
  • Maintain on-site inventory supplies, restock and clean equipment used in the treatment of employees
  • Communicate with outside medical providers on worker's injury/healing progression and providing direct follow-up care with worker
  • Maintains patient confidentiality.
  • Complies with all Clinic policies.
  • Provide daily activity logs to the safety team and management team • Frequent "site walks" to interact with both workers and managers
Requirements
Requirements
  • The ideal APP candidate will have a minimum of one (1) year experience working in DIRECT patient care.
  • Additionally, the APP needs to have sound communication skills, and is able to work in a collaborative manner with other team-members.
  • Must be a licensed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
  • Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 35 lbs.
  • Ability to walk and/or stand a minimum of five hours in a workday
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
Education/Certification
  • Minimum of a valid Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license
  • Valid CPR certification at the Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider level (American Heart Association) or Professional Rescuer (American Red Cross)
It's a plus if you have any of the following:
  • Experience working with OSHA regulations, specifically in 29 CFR 1910
  • Experience working on large-scale construction sites
  • Experience with the workers' compensation claim process
  • Instructor certification for First Aid, CPR, and AED training
  • An active OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 card
