What You'll Be Doing:
Driving business development and business growth by assessing current portfolio and new potential opportunities. Part of the team to evaluate and investigate new/existing market trends and support strategic growth and new business opportunities. Learn to assess the technical feasibility and product optimization with vertical markets and specific customer needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.Others as assigned.
  • Identifies new business and drives opportunities through prospecting phase of sales cycle, including prospecting, qualifying, presenting and proposing. Moves leads through the sales process, engaging solutions and development team when appropriate.
  • Researches and analyzes trends across economy and existing/potential markets. Maintains and stay abreast of market knowledge in respective areas of responsibility. Suggests plans for improving marketability and technology opportunities.
  • Interacts with decision-makers, effectively communicating Company's capabilities, building strategic relationships with existing customers & new prospects for product development and business development opportunities. Maintains accurate/transparent documentation of sales efforts in CRM.
  • Supports or leads product launches including business plan, market price, go to market strategy and transition to fulfillment by internal teams. This includes collaborating with the team on development and formalizing plans for large category product launches.
  • Maintains inter-company relationships, technical information and communications to be liaison for company and customers.
    • Coordinates internal sales activities for assigned customers, insuring customers' specific requirements are properly interpreted.
    • Analyzes data from internal systems to support decisions on new market development or product development.
    • Provides and understands customer forecast order requirements for planning purposes.
    • Communicates across departments and works with others on a regular basis to build consensus around concepts and ideas.
  • Collaborates with voestalpine global colleagues regarding shared opportunities and best practices.
  • Collaborates with Management on sales pricing, customer satisfaction, sales representation, trade shows, marketing and market development, sales training, forecasting and budgets.
  • Supports and contributes to marketing program, maintaining corporate compliance, effective marketing of brand and maintaining positive customer image, which leads to generating new sales.
Schedule: This position will primarily workeight or more hours per day, five days per week based on business needs and will primarily be day-time hours but may occasionally work or travel nights and weekends for events and special projects.
This is an onsite, remote-flexible position.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Business, or Engineering or Sales/Marketing from a four-year college or university.
  • Eager to learn and desire to grow in a professional B2B sales career.
  • Self-starting individual who has demonstrated a strong work ethic while developing a mastery of something (sport, music, hobby, etc.)
  • Strong communication skills including presentation skills. Collaborative and able to work cross-functionally to achieve company goals.
  • Detail-oriented with ability to take complex problems and communicate at a technical level when needed.
  • Highly proficient in Office software: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook and ability to learn sales software tools.
  • Experience in a workplace (could include part-time during school, internships, etc.)
  • Ability to work onsite in manufacturing facility each day when not traveling to customers or tradeshows. May travel up to 40% of time.
Preferred experience:
  • Project management tools and new product launch cycle.
  • Metal manufacturing processes or industry.
  • Internship or early career experience in engineering or sales/marketing, or customer service roles.
