Behavioral Support Specialist

<p><b>Compensation</b>: $17.50 Hourly </p><p></p><p><b>Due to critical service need of the communities we serve, we are offering a $1,350 sign-on bonus.* We are eager to continue to provide quality and compassionate care in our service areas and need you to make this happen!</b></p><p>Behavioral Support Specialist assist in creating an environment in which individuals diagnosed with a severe and persistent mental illness and/or a developmental disability will have the opportunity to grow and make the transition to community living. This will be done not only in the areas of supporting, encouraging and instructing, but also by modeling for them the desired behaviors.</p><p><b>This position is full-time, benefit eligible position. The schedule varies and is 4 days on, 2 days off with alternating weekends. </b></p><p><b>Responsibilities include:</b></p><p>* Assists in the implementation of treatment plans to ensure that residents have opportunities to exercise their personal choice in all aspects of their lives in accordance with any limitation that may be in their treatment plan<br />* Assist residents in decision making<br />* Support, encourage, and document resident's performance of activities of daily living skills and progress towards goals and treatment plans<br />* Transport residents to activities and appointments<br />* Ensure physical safety of staff and residents<br />* Shift duties including but not limited to; reading communication logs/manager notes, consulting with peers concerning current situations and formulate plan to intervene, plan and prepare daily meals, documents events and activities, administer medications, document any medication reactions, monitor financial books, receipts, cash, complete financial ledgers monthly, monitor MAR for errors and new med orders<br />* House maintenance and cleaning duties including but not limited to; daily house inspections, shift housekeeping assignments, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, washing resident's laundry, replace light bulbs, toners, and report improperly operating appliances, fire alarms, doors and windows<br />* Complete all required trainings and adhere to all policies and procedures of the program and company<br />* Must use Tools of Choice consistently and with fidelity when supporting clients.</p><p></p><p> </p><br><br><p>* High School/GED required<br />* Bachelor's degree in a human service field from an accredited program preferred</p><p>* Must have a reliable personal vehicle with current insurance, registration and copy of inspection as required by state laws<br />* Must obtain a valid unrestricted driver's license at the time of hire with the ability to obtain and maintain a Class E MO driver's license by the end of the 60-day introductory period<br /><br /><b>QUALIFICATION(S): LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: </b>Medication Technician I and Red Cross CPR/First Aid certifications required &amp; Must meet the qualifications to obtain CPI certification, along with the ability to implement CPI when needed</p><p><b>Compass Health Network</b> is a nonprofit health care organization offering accessible, comprehensive, &amp; compassionate behavioral health, substance use treatment, family medicine and dental services throughout Missouri.
