Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Avionics Systems Lead to join our team at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation. As a key member of our service center, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership in the testing, troubleshooting, and repair of avionics and electronic systems on our aircraft.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Technical Expertise : Provide superior technical skills and expertise in avionics and aircraft systems operational testing and troubleshooting.
  2. Leadership and Training : Directly train personnel to support company cross-training goals, ensuring a safety-conscious, quality-oriented, skilled workforce.
  3. Installation and Testing : Teach the installation and functionally testing of electrical/avionics components and systems per Engineering specifications, drawings, and maintenance manuals, ensuring a defect-free system.
  4. Quality and Efficiency : Ensure quality and efficiency of all installations, troubleshoot, and teach troubleshooting processes/concepts to provide timely, quality repairs of malfunctioning systems.
  5. Repair and Replacement : Demonstrate effective repair techniques using acceptable practices, including splicing, soldering, and pinning of wiring, to ensure installations meet conformity.
  6. Test Equipment and Systems : Set up and operate necessary test equipment, conduct functional and operational tests to evaluate performance and reliability.
  7. Documentation and Compliance : Maintain daily logs and other paperwork, ensuring that all work performed on the aircraft is properly and completely documented.
  8. Pre-Inspection and Quality Control : Pre-inspect work of others prior to submitting to inspection for approval to reduce rework and inspection time.
  9. Company Programs and Regulations : Enforce the company FOD program, tool control program, 5-S program, and all safety regulations.
  10. Adaptability and Coordination : Adapt to sudden schedule changes and coordinate with other disciplines concerning projects.
Requirements
  1. Education and Experience : High School Diploma or GED required; 6 years of experience in an avionics/electrical career field, or 2 years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics and 4 years of related experience.
  2. Preferred Qualifications : A&P license, FCC license, or NCATT certification; proficiency in the operation and troubleshooting of other aircraft systems or disciplines; APU run qualification and engine run qualification.
  3. Language and Communication : Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
