Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer with the expertise to perform and lead the process methodology of installing, configuring, and monitoring systems and software.
Key Responsibilities
  • Operational: Provide support across IT disciplines, including system performance, resiliency, network performance, security administration, and operations in physical, virtual, and Cloud environments (Windows and Linux).
  • System Installation and Configuration: Install new servers or rebuild existing ones, configuring hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, and storage according to project management standards.
  • Cloud Operations and Transition: Lead Cloud Operational projects and tasks, working closely to transition environments and projects from internal IT teams (Infrastructure, Applications, and Cybersecurity) into Cloud Operations.
  • System Monitoring: Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of hardware, server resources, systems, and critical processes. Review system and application logs, verify completion of scheduled jobs such as backups and engage in security monitoring, vulnerability scanning, and penetration testing.
  • Performance Optimization: Conduct ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization. Lead troubleshooting efforts, working with vendors, technical personnel, and organizations as needed.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Create and maintain documentation for all departmental activities.
  • Ensure adherence to Service Requests, Incidents, Change Management policies, procedures, and SLAs.
  • Innovation and Technology Research: Research and recommend innovative and automated approaches for system administration tasks. Test new and emerging technologies to enhance Cloud operations.
  • On-Call Rotation and Support: Participate in the IT Operational On-Call rotation. Supporting customer applications hosted in the company's Cloud environments and on-premises environments at customer sites, including providing on-call support for assigned products/customers.

Qualifications
10+ years of experience administering Windows and/Linux/ Server operating systems.
3+ years of experience planning and administering Azure/AWS large-scale virtualized environments.
Possesses a comprehensive working knowledge of Linux operating system, especially process and system monitoring facilities.
Strong WAN and LAN configuration and troubleshooting skills.
Exhibits mature organization and time management skills.

Education:
Required: Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of study
Combination of experience and/or education can be substituted for a degree
Preferred: Master's degree in a relevant field of study
