Imperial Trading Co., LLC is looking for a highly motivated and skilled Assistant Tax Preparer (Licensing Compliance) to join the Elmwood, LA Team! Skilled applicants will work in conjunction with the multiple departments and operations while initiating best practices for accounting processes with a primary focus on the preparation of various federal (if required), state, county, and local sales/excise tax returns, and oversee the preparation of government forms/applications for new and annual license renewals for respective, affiliated jurisdictions. Qualifications include : 1 - 3 Years of relevant experience
  • Experience in preparing various state, county, and local sales/excise tax returns
  • Ability to prepare forms/applications for various annual license renewals
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to meet internal and external deadlines

SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Accurate calculation and data entry into the computer system; execute and oversee licensing and application and renewal compliance with respective jurisdictions.

  • Primary duty includes the exercise of discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance and is directly related to the management and general business operations of the Company and its customers;
  • Responsible for preparing various federal (if required), state, county, and local sales/excise tax returns;
  • Responsible for the preparation of government forms/applications for new and annual license renewals for respective, affiliated jurisdictions;
  • Must maintain proficiency with data software including, but not limited to, Excel and other related applications;

The employee must occasionally lift up 10 pounds and up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. This position requires prolonged sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee may occasionally work in wet humid conditions, near moving mechanical parts, in high precarious places, with fumes or airborne particles, in outdoor weather conditions, in extreme cold, in extreme heat and with vibration. The noise level of the work environment is moderate.
