Job Summary

Responsible for the hands-on operation of a 4-unit 1200 MW combined cycle power generation facility utilizing GE 7FA combustion turbines and A10 steam turbine (control systems to include Foxboro and GE Mark VIe). Responsible for the operation of a 2-unit 300 MW simple cycle power generation facility utilizing Siemens V84.3A.2 simple cycle gas turbines with TXP control systems.
This position is responsible for performing operations functions, preventive and corrective maintenance as applicable to job function to ensure proper functioning of plant equipment will work under the direction of site management.

Key Responsibilities :

Operate and maintain the facility in the control room or field, optimizing Plant performance through established procedures.

Perform startup and shutdown operations on combined cycle and simple cycle units.

Perform equipment monitoring rounds on operating equipment within the facility.

Monitor water chemistry parameters in support of make-up water production, cooling water circulation and ASME guidelines for maintaining boiler and feed water within specification.

Demonstrate procedural compliance in all plant operation activities by operating plant equipment through established valve line-ups and system/component operating procedures.

Performs daily preventive and corrective maintenance as required.

Proficient in operating material handling Equipment

Understands relationship of equipment to plant systems

Ensures strict adherence to safety, health and environmental procedures as they relate to plant operations and maintenance including but not limited to Lockout Tagout, Job Safety Analysis, Confined Space, Hot Work, Electrical Safety and PPE

Actively participate in the behavior-based safety program and ensure every team member complies with all safety procedures and applicable task-oriented job safety analyses.

Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements :

4 years' experience in a Combined Cycle Power plant or equivalent industrial setting

Satisfactory completion of Tier 3 within primary skill for position job performance measure

Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent

If applicable, candidate will hold the required level of state license as recognized by the governing body of that state

Basic user PC skills for information processing and management

Demonstrate effective oral & verbal communications skills

Independent knowledge of troubleshooting

Must pass POSS/MASS preemployment exam

Physical Requirements:

Ability to work on a 12 rotating shift schedule. Shift work, overtime and standby status are required.

Ability to hear and understand audible alarms, detect changes in noise levels of equipment, accurately read and interpret instruments and gauges and communicate clearly on portable radios.

Ability to respond to plant emergencies.

Ability to perform demanding work at heights under adverse conditions and when participating in

emergency activities.

Ability to climb stairs, ladders and enter confined spaces as required to complete assigned tasks.

Ability to lift 50 lbs. of weight.

Ability to pass respirator physical and fit tests.

Ability to perform first aid and CPR.

While performing duties on the job, the employee will be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
