This position reports to the Center director. The Assistant Director demonstrates leadership abilities by creating and maintaining a positive learning environment for all families enrolled. The Assistant Director assists the Director and Owner in operating the center in accordance to the procedures and state licensing standards to provide an educational, nurturing, and safe environment for children, staff and parents. This individual assumes all Director responsibilities and duties in the absence of the Director. Meets expectations for delivering exceptional customer service to families enrolled at the school.

In order to be considered for this position, you must meet all state licensing requirements, including:
Must be at least 21 years of age with a High School Diploma or GED.
Must have current certification in infant, child and adult CPR and first aid
Prior supervisory experience preferred.
Associate degree in child development or early childhood education OR
64 semester hours in any discipline with a minimum of 21 semester hour college credits in child development, early childhood education or early childhood special education AND
Eithera Gateways to Opportunity Level 1 OR 3 semester hours of college credit OR 3 points of credential approved training in administration, leadership or management.

Additional Responsibilities:
As the assistant director and director delegate, selected candidate will fill in for the Director as needed in the directors absence, Understand and assist staff members with developmentally appropriate practice in Early Childhood Education, Implements and supervises staff members with company policies and procedures, supervises closing staff and ensures building is secure at the end of each day, complies with, and implement DCFS regulations regarding the care of children, Assist teachers with managing behavior problems.
Keeps the Director informed of any necessary information regarding the care and safety of children, Assists and accepts responsibility in other daily center duties that might be temporary in the event other personnel are not available, Attends and participates in staff meetings, center events, and parent/customer meetings as requested.
