Overview

The assistant clinical coordinator collaborates with physicians and care providers to coordinate day to day patient care. Job involves working with patients, physicians and support staff to meet patient goals successfully. Responsible for performing a variety of clerical duties relating to the updating and organizing of information on the nursing units; coordinating work with the unit as well as with other units and departments; reporting pertinent information to the immediate supervisor; responding to inquiries and requests from staff and personnel.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and comprehend clinic schedules.
Performs various clerical duties relating to the updating and organizing of information on the medical units as illustrated by maintenance tasks relating to chart order, chart accuracy, and chart current data.
Answers the telephone in a professional manner, direct calls to appropriate individuals and/or take messages.
Stocks units with office and medical supplies.
Prepares requisitions to maintain established inventories.
Faxes and photocopies information as needed.
Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the medical unit as well as within other units and departments in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information.
Respond to inquiries relating to his/her particular area within given timeframes and within established policy.
Processes a variety of information regarding patient care.
Keeps all necessary lists and schedules.
Coordinate patient appointments.
Perform other duties as assigned.
