Position Description
WSMP Developers are responsible for making modifications and enhancements to various WSMP desktop software applications or micro services. Specific responsibilities of the Developer are outlined below.
-Follow established WSMP Agile policies, processes, and other defined guidelines for software development, maintenance and product deliveries.
- Perform system software development, enhancement, and maintenance functions throughout a product’s life cycle.
- During the software development cycle, maintain responsibility for requirements, use cases, design documentation, code, unit testing, user documentation, developer documentation
- Provide level of effort estimates during or before sprint meetings, including rationales when required.
- Review and analyze specifications, ICDs, and other engineering documentation to determine engineering requirements.
- Participate in development of milestones and schedules, and determine appropriate software development criteria.
- Analyze identified Fleet anomalies and provide corrections.
- Complete assigned software changes in an accurate, robust, well documented and tested manner in accordance with a documented schedule.
- Organize or participate in change reviews. Typical review items include system and software requirements, design, code, traceability matrices, test plans, test cases and user documentation.
- Appraise the Team Lead or Product Lead of any problems impacting technical products or schedule as soon as they are identified.
- Perform software unit testing to verify that software requirements are being satisfied at the unit level (prior to full system integration). Assist test team with Integration testing as needed.
- Attend and productively contribute to sprints, scrums, and retrospectives.
- Develop and maintain the skills required to be successful within the software engineering and test environments, including any training needs.
- Provide suggestions to modify and improve WSMP processes and tools.
