Accountant II

The Accountant II will perform routine accounting activities which may include preparing and processing receivable payments, client statements and reports, accounts payable invoices and journal entries in accordance with established guidelines and procedures.

Essential Functions:

Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Communicate and explain accounting issues and evolving accounting updates to the Accounting Manager.
Determine payroll requirements, process bi-weekly payroll for restaurant clients, assist with financial reporting for restaurant clients including inventory management and tax filing.
Assist in driving continuous process and procedural improvement, aiming to reduce the time required to close the financial period.
Enter transactions and journal entries into the general ledger, including intercompany transactions.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts and bank accounts, and post daily payments and deposits into multiple systems.
Prepare various analytical and financial reports for clients, ownership, and colleagues.
Other duties and analysis related to client support and company accounting as assigned.

Above average skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, with strong data entry skills and typing speed.

Ability to prioritize and meet critical deadlines.

Education and Experience:

1 - 3 years of experience in an Accounting or Finance department required
Bachelor’s Degree required; experience may be considered in lieu of degree
