DUTIES:

  • Develops, evaluates, improves, adapts and launches customer concepts into a finished sample or product.
  • Work with sales to identify customer needs and develop solutions.
  • Documents estimates on production time and other related costs in order to provide information for proper management decisions.
  • Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
  • Works with suppliers on technical issues for materials and equipment based on Company's need.
  • Assists in the selection of yard vendors for all assigned projects.
  • Provides Capital Expense calculations for management approval, including ROI and payback information.
  • Performs testing on all assigned projects; maintains data from testing.
  • Works with outside entities and uses statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential for future growth.
  • Develop and assist with business plans to determine potential for new product growth.
  • Ability to think "outside the box" to find solutions.
  • Assists in launch and follow through on all assigned projects.
  • Provides technical support to the Textile manufacturing divisions.
  • Attends meetings, seminars as needed to keep up-to-date on the latest trends and topics within the discipline.
  • Works in conjunction with manufacturing, quality, and sales teams.
  • Performs other duties at or above the same skill level at the discretion of the Supervisor.
  • Overall awareness and understanding that Hope Global operates within the EMS 14001 & QMS 16949 management systems.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
Education: B.S. in Engineering
Experience: Three to five+ years of work experience within the textile industry is required.

PHYSICAL DEMAND/WORKING CONDITIONS:
The position is primarily within an office environment. Some time is spent in an engineering laboratory. Machinery, such as sewing machinery is present. The noise is considered moderate. A combination of sitting and standing for an eight hour day is required. In addition, some bending and stooping is needed in order to perform some functions.
