Job Summary

You will have the ability to provide engineering design and analysis of the distribution system with regard to reliability, material adequacy, inspection technologies and replacement of facilities.

Essential Functions
  • Prioritize and manage assignments and projects to completion. Projects will be moderately complex public and system improvement, new business, joint-use, street lighting, and general equipment projects on our electric assets.
  • Develop industry specific skills, knowledge, and an understanding of engineering and construction standards and compliance rules.
  • Develop relationships with internal and external customers and contractors to meet and exceed their expectations daily.
  • Communicate with customers, visit customer and work sites - balancing your time in the office and in the field.
  • Process and create work orders, make drawings, develop work scopes and estimates, communicate and coordinate activities with Field Operations, some projects require right-of-way and permitting.
  • Provide regular and critical updates to our asset management and geographical information systems that result from capital projects, maintenance and service orders.
  • Manage multiple assignments and priorities concurrently, while looking for ways to continuously improve processes to gain efficiencies.
  • Participate in emergency response activities or support company operations as needed.

Education Description
  • Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil or other approved engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.

Experience
  • Requires a minimum of two (2) years of experience in electric utility design, related construction project design, or related utility experience.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or other computer-aided drafting software preferred.
