Job Summary

Early Childhood Teachers provide responsive educational opportunities in a nurturing, supportive environment that promote success for our youngest of learners, ACC students, employees, and the communities we serve, while working cooperatively with administration, colleagues and families. The Early Childhood teacher will collaborate with the Director of the Child Development Center and the Associate Dean of Education in the management of the classroom delivering engaging educational experiences. Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the classroom. In addition, the Early Childhood Teacher will create and maintain genuine relationships with children and families delivering best practices for each unique child. The Early Childhood Teacher will be responsible for planning and conducting assessments, utilizing assessment data, and classroom & individual observations to create informed, meaningful weekly lesson plans. The Child Development Center follows State of Colorado licensing requirements and NAEYC accreditation standards while implementing a developmentally appropriate curricular approach. This position reports to the Director of the ACC Child Development Center. The position will typically work a 40 hour per week schedule, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, which must include at least two, three-semester credit hour courses in Early Childhood Education; one of the courses must either be Intro to ECE or Guidance Strategies, OR
  • Current Early Childhood Professional Credential Level II or higher in Version 3.0, OR
  • Current professional Teaching License issued by the Colorado Department of Education with an endorsement in the area of Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, or Early Childhood Special Education Specialist
  • One year experience in a quality early childcare center planning and implementing engaging learning experiences.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Extensive knowledge of best practices and principles in the delivery of high-quality early childcare and education.
  • Knowledge of NAEYC accreditation standards.
  • Experience creating and implementing integrated lesson plans.
  • Experience with authentic assessment process and Teaching Strategies Gold assessment tool.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Working knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Internet.
