Job Requirements 2 years of unit experience RNs are required to titrate drips RNs must read and interpret tele monitors A nurse on this unit is successful if they are a team player, are flexible and adaptable, and have good communication skills Schedule Information 12 hour shifts, 36 hours guaranteed Shifts & Scheduling: 0630-1830, 1830-0630 Weekend Requirements: Every third Holiday Requirements: Rotating with perm staff Floating Requirements: Yes to MedSurg or to ICU to take PCU acuity patients How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation? : 1 week Unit Specific Information Beds: 40 beds with average daily census of 24 Ratios: 1:4-5 both days and nights Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Adults, Cardiac med/surg, dialysis, cancer diagnosis, vascular,sepsis, adult respiratory, stroke, post stent, post pacer placement, renal failure Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, insulin Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? : Yes Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties? : Yes, 1:12 RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot? : High flow Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors? : RNs must read and interpret Scrub Color/Dress code: Navy Blue Additional Details WILL NOT APPROVE BLOCKED SCHEDULING OR SAME SCHEDULE/SHIFTS, MUST BE FLEXIBLE AND WILLING TO FLOAT AND WORK WHEN NEEDED Looking for someone who is flexible and willing to learn as well as take feedback along the way Different cultural populations are served on this unit- primarily Hispanic and Somalian Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity. RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
