Licensed Behavioral Health Therapist

The Licensed Behavioral Health Therapist is responsible for providing direct social services to patients and their families in an acute care setting, including partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient services.

  • Provide therapeutic treatment services to individuals, groups, and families
  • Offer crisis intervention services and assess for safety
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and referral sources with respect and dignity
  • Participate in psychoeducational support sessions
  • Provide case management and therapeutic interventions to all assigned patients
  • Advocate for patients with grievances
  • Ensure patient safety and report safety concerns

Education/Training Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Professional Counseling, or Family Therapy preferred
  • In-training licensure or fully licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Social Worker, depending on state requirements
  • Working knowledge of therapeutic intervention and techniques for all age groups
  • Formal training in handling aggressive patients and American Red Cross Professional Rescue certification required
  • Attend all mandatory in-services and other relevant trainings

The Behavioral Health Therapist will work in accordance with the System policies and procedures to ensure a high standard of patient care and safety.
