Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in education.
- Valid Alaska teaching certificate with elementary or early childhood education endorsement, or ability to obtain upon hire.
- Constructivist teaching experience and/or training.
- Experience teaching in a multi-age classroom.
- Experience and/or training in developing emergent curriculum.
- Experience and/or training in working collaboratively with specialists and parents in the classroom.
- Experience as a team member involved in cross-grade, cross-discipline project-based curriculum design.
- Collaborate with teachers and specialists to continually update and deliver a whole-school, whole-child curriculum.
- Create a classroom environment, develop lessons, and deliver curriculum using constructivist learning theory.
- Practice Supportive Social Learning to develop in students emotional self-regulation abilities appropriate to their age.
- Partner with and train parents to be engaged in the life of the classroom and school.
- Work with small, cross-discipline, multi-age groups.
- Work independently within the JCCS instructional model.
