Wire EDM Machinist

South Shore Manufacturing (formerly Jack’s Machine Company) is the largest Wire EDM Shop in New England and provides precision machining services.

Job Summary:

You will run multiple wire EDM machines on a continuous basis and identify and resolve problems during production runs, read drawings, and inspect parts on a daily basis using various types of inspection equipment. Must be able to work efficiently in a team environment that is fast paced with a strong commitment and accountability.

Job details:

Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
$500 Sign on Bonus
Schedule - 8 hour shift, Monday to Friday

Responsibilities:

• Set up and switch jobs as required
  
• Load and unload parts
• Minor maintenance of machine
• Verify all parts are conforming before signing off on traveler
• Keep track of all scrap
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Perform miscellaneous duties assigned and required
• Function effectively within a team environment
• Maintain an excellent attendance record
• Daily communication with co-workers, supervisors, and across shifts

Qualifications:

• High school or equivalent
• 2+ years Wire EDM machining experience, CNC Milling, tool design, and machine troubleshooting and repair.
• Ability to perform machine set-up and programing
• Mastercam and Esprit experience a plus
• Tool and die experience preferred
• Working knowledge of shop mathematics
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Must have a high level of attention to detail, the ability to multitask and excellent problem solving skills.
