*_Responsibilities include_*:
· Meeting with mid to high net-worth clients and providing quality estate planning advice and a positive, confidential professional relationship.
· Ability to identify and analyze complex estate planning issues for mid to high net-worth individuals and their families, many of whom own closely held businesses, hold significant real estate interests and/or are highly compensated executives.
· Drafting a variety of complex estate planning documents.
· Administering estates and trusts.
· Researching and analyzing complex legal issues as they relate to estate planning and the administration of trusts and estates.
· Advising clients and colleagues on questions of law related to estate planning, probate matters and trust administration.
· Negotiating successfully and respectfully with opposing attorneys and other professionals.
· Supporting other attorneys within the firm.
· Overseeing and working with paralegals and assistants.
· Establishing connections in the community and with other professionals.
· Representing the law firm in the community with integrity and in a professional and approachable manner.
*_Requirements include_*:
· The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of relevant experience and is licensed to practice law in the State of Maine (or eligibility to obtain admission promptly).
· Experience advising clients on complex estate planning and related tax issues and drafting related documents.
· Strong work ethic and skills and experience in successfully initiating and maintaining durable client relationships.
· Must be outgoing, collegial and collaborative and possess exceptional communication and problem solving skills.
· MS Office experience required
