Hospitalist Triage Nurse

The Hospitalist Triage Nurse is responsible for triaging calls for new admissions to the Hospitalist service and assisting with patient assessments for pending admissions. This role involves serving as a liaison between Hospitalists and ancillary staff, as well as optimizing patient placement and access to hospital resources.

  • Interact with internal and external customers to facilitate appropriate patient placement and access to hospital resources.
  • Assist with department and internal operational issues to optimize patient care.
  • Assess patients to gather pertinent information for physician assessment and validation of patient care.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to address patient flow and throughput issues.
  • Facilitate centralized patient acceptance and admission throughput from emergency departments and regional facilities.
  • Act as a resource to nursing staff for patients under the Hospitalist Service.
