Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated IT Support Specialist with mid-level experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supporting Windows, Mac, and Linux systems, as well as hands-on experience with small electronics projects such as Raspberry Pi. Proficiency in Python coding is essential. The IT Support Specialist will be responsible for providing technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and software systems across the organization. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Essential Functions

  • Willingness to learn.
  • Develop and maintain Python scripts for automation, data processing, and system monitoring.
  • Coordinates and/or performs additions and changes to system hardware and attached devices; includes configuration, installation and testing of new system hardware and software.
  • Provides direct support in day-to-day operations on system hardware and software and network operations. Duties include workstation hardware and OS configuration, software installation, configuration and desktop support, configuration and troubleshooting of network attached devices such as printers, scanners, copiers, NAS, etc.). Also, configuring and troubleshooting of the corporate network including point-to-point wireless links across facility buildings, wireless APs, managed switches and firewalls as needed.
  • Provides technical consultation, training, documentation and support as designated by manager.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Hours of work are negotiable around a Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm schedule. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
Travel to other customer sites within the continental United States may required.
Required Education and Experience
  • Two to four years of experience in general IT support or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of PCs, network hardware, operating systems and software.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Five to six years of experience in general IT Support.
  • Associates Degree.
Other Hiring Requirements
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to pass a background investigation.
  • Must pass a DOT/FAA regulated drug screening.
  • Must be able to obtain a passport.
