This position would involve supervising three or four other sanitation workers in taking apart processing equipment and cleaning it by hand. Electrical and mechanical experience is preferred. Position Summary
As a Plant Sanitarian Supervisor at our Hard-Cooked Egg processing facility you will work alongside of your team and develop, implement and continuously improve on sanitation programs, policies and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the facility. This position reports to the Plant Manager and directs a crew of up to 8-10 hourly employees. Wilcox Farms supplies continuous improvement to encourage a development and growth path to our supervisors.
Responsibilities:

  • Hands-on oversight of all sanitation practices
  • Ensures plant is in proper sanitary condition at all times
  • Evaluates facility sanitary conditions visually and analytically
  • Effective supervise, mentor, and coach employees.
  • Troubleshoots persistent sanitation issues to identify deficiencies in sanitation program or facility/equipment design
  • Maintains and updates master cleaning schedule for plant according to GMP
  • Maintains and updates equipment inspection schedule to identify any possible issues with sanitation process, ensure all niche areas are properly cleaned and verify there is no excessive wear of equipment components
  • Maintains and writes detailed clean up procedures and SSOP's for all plant equipment.
  • Conducts clean up inspections and verification /validations of sanitation using swabs and/or samples collected for analysis
  • Oversees monthly environmental samples for monitoring of pathogenic organisms in plant.
  • Monitor and charts all Sanitation KPIs results and develops corrective actions
  • Identifies need for any additional microbiological testing
  • Coordinates and prepares plant for internal and third-party audits yearly
  • Engages technical experts from corporate, industry experts, and chemical / equipment suppliers to troubleshoot persistent sanitation challenges and identify novel technologies and methodologies that improve sanitation effectiveness
  • Works with plant maintenance, plant engineering, equipment manufacturers, and chemical suppliers, directs the effective implementation of CIP (cleaning in place)and COP (cleaning out of place) systems where appropriate for the application
  • Develops and implements all sanitation related training for sanitation and plant employees as needed
  • Ensures all safety requirements related to sanitation are met including proper chemical storage, SDS, PPE and procedures

Qualifications
  • 3 year of leadership experience in either a lead or supervisory role.
  • Direct lead or supervision of sanitation team is preferred.
  • Experience with the food, beverage, pharmaceutical or chemical industry preferred.
  • Experience in Ready to Eat Food Processing facility is preferred
  • Food safety certifications highly preferred.
