Job Summary:
We are seeking skilled and compassionate ECC and ICU Veterinary Technicians to join our team. Currently filling several different shifts.
As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our animal patients. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting veterinarians during examinations and surgeries, administering medications, collecting samples, and providing general care for animals.
Duties:
- Assist veterinarians in examining and treating animals
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Perform laboratory tests and analyze samples
- Take and develop X-rays
- Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures
- Monitor animals' vital signs during procedures and recovery
- Clean and maintain equipment and work areas
- Provide general care for animals, including feeding, bathing, and exercising
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and treatment
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician in ER or ICU setting is preferred
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and common veterinary procedures
Requirements:
- Certification or degree in Veterinary Technology or a related field is required
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with pet owners and colleagues
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Compassionate nature with a genuine love for animals
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and stand for long periods of time
