Surgical Services Assistant

POSITION SUMMARY
The Surgical Services assistant cleans areas of responsibility utilizing proper procedures and maintains productivity and cost effectiveness. Other duties may include escorting patients to assigned rooms, scheduling and coordinating follow up appointments, performing clerical duties as assigned, restocking, labeling and maintaining supply inventories. This is a hybrid role to support the PMH Surgical Services unit. It is estimated the accountabilities will breakdown as follows:

• 30% housekeeping
• 30% clerical
• 40% skilled clinical (sterile, clinical assistant)

• High School Diploma/GED
• Basic computer knowledge
• Ability to communicate effectively in English
• BLS certification within orientation period

• Prefers Hazardous Materials Certification

• 2 years of healthcare cleaning experience
• 1 year of hospital experience, preferred
