Ultrasound Technologist

Location: Devens, Massachusetts

Job Type: Part Time

Shift: ( Monday - Friday, 8am - 4pm) no less than 16 hours per month

Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Ultrasound Technician to operate sonographic scanners and capture images of patients' internal organs. The candidate should possess excellent patient service, technical skills, and a solid working knowledge of anatomy and pathology. Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and time-management skills are also required. This location provides specialized or long-term medical and mental health care for male inmates at a federal correctional facility.

Responsibilities: Included but not limited to

  • Administers scans per physicians' orders efficiently and timely, according to departmental policy and procedures.
  • Prepares, utilizes, and operates ultrasound equipment and rooms according to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Check equipment for proper functioning before patient examination
  • Maintaining patients' records and medical notes on the ultrasound procedure they have undergone
  • Perform sonographic examination using equipment and techniques specific to the modality, anatomy, pathology, physiology, and area of interest requested
  • Follow sterile techniques and, according to standard community hospital policy, date, label, and mark images before sending them to contracted tele-radiology services.
  • Keeps licensures, certification, and registration current via continuing education credits or other requirements
  • Presents cases to Physician/MLP for reviews

Requirement and Experience:

  • An associate's or bachelor's degree in sonography.
  • Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • At least one year of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist
