St. Augustine Imaging is looking for a PRN Ultrasound Tech for a fast-paced outpatient imaging center. The incumbent will provide quality customer service while obtaining and entering accurate demographic and insurance information into our RIS system for our patients.
What you’ll get to do:

  • Greet patients and families with a pleasant and helpful demeanor; provide clear instructions on procedures and answer patient’s inquiries.
  • Schedule and coordinate various patient exams. To include, but not limited to: abdominal, vascular, small parts, ob-gyn, infant head/hip/spine, and interventional procedures.
  • Use cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information, and images.
  • Use independent judgement during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathological findings.
  • Responsible for handling all breast imaging tasks, including both routine and interventional procedures
  • Maintain ultrasound equipment and work area and keep supplies well stocked and organized.
  • Provide compassionate care to meet the psychological and physical needs of patients and their families during all procedures
  • Other duties as assigned.
What you will need to be successful:
  • High School Diploma or GED and graduate of a formal sonography program
  • Minimum one year of experience and/ or training with a graduate sonographer
  • ARDMS registered with certification in abdomen studies and BLS Certification (Required)
  • Vascular certification (Preferred)
  • Experienced in interventional procedures for the breast.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology
  • Knowledge of safety hazards related to radiology and sonography
  • Intermediate computer skill and navigation ability to process and submit images for interpretation by radiologist
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Must be able to lift/carry/move items weighing up to 50 pounds. Requires positioning of patients.
