QC Inspector

This is a job for a QC Inspector with a company located in the Olive Branch, MS area. Responsibilities: Understands and complies with position related safety SOP's and work instructions, especially for Lockout/Tagout, Machine Guarding, Housekeeping, SQF, and Personal Protective Equipment. Analyze inspection data and establish quality level and acceptability of product where limits are not clearly defined; to include understanding and identifying defective product in accordance with corporate and plant procedure. Possess good communication skills for reporting any issues that involve Safety, Quality, Spoilage, or Production and communicates with peers to understand issues, changes, and processes. Performs any test, gauge or instrument inspections, specifically assigned checks and obtain the required number of inspection samples where considerable judgement is required to determine quality of product as defined by corporate and plant procedure. Record result(s) with applicable comments in QAS software and understand the reporting and charting functions of software. Perform simple maintenance/process type tasks as required (i.e. changing strapping rolls, clearing equipment jams, conveyors, runways, pallet or top frame dispensers, pulling defective/upright-turned cans, simple daily gauge calibrations, PMs). Continuously inspects visually for defective product, reporting to supervisor and appropriate employees any incidences of defective cans or packaging materials. Tends automatic can machines to ensure continuous line production; operating controls when necessary to restore machine(s) to automatic status. Reporting any equipment malfunctions to supervisor. Comply with all plant and corporate safety policies, regulations, Safe Quality Food (SQF) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs); and participate pro-actively in plant safety programs and initiatives, including online safety training and safety observations. Disposition and quarantine all non-conforming and suspect product, saving samples when applicable, and understand the use and function of the plant SAP based inventory systems as it applies and utilize to ensure accurate inventory levels. Check layers of cans for full pattern pack, replacing missing or defective cans, sorting, re-feeding, and depalletizing as required; Counts, records, and disposes of spoilage accumulated in designated manner. Possess and maintain the highest level of housekeeping standards and perform daily to protect integrity of plant and product. Completes any other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Familiar with Personal Protective Equipment, detail oriented, prior experience in a fast-paced manufacturing facility. High School Diploma or Equivalent.
