The Salesforce Technical Architect will join the internal Salesforce delivery team. As a senior member of the Salesforce team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing Salesforce solutions that meet the needs of our business. This role will work closely with IT and Business leadership to define the Salesforce roadmap, with a goal of improving Old Dominion’s ability to exceed our customer’s expectations. The ideal candidate will have technical expertise in Salesforce architecture, configuration, and customization, combined with strong communication skills.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design scalable and high-performance Salesforce solutions that leverage Salesforce best practices and industry standards

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, understand business processes, and translate them into technical solutions on the Salesforce platform

  • Lead the technical design sessions and architect complex technical solutions using Salesforce and related technologies

  • Perform hands-on technical implementation, with a focus on delivering functional solutions on the Salesforce platform

  • Conduct code reviews for ongoing projects to ensure adherence to Salesforce best practices and maintainability

  • Ensures technical solutions are comprehensive and consider end-to-end business processes

  • Engage cross-functional teams on complete end-to-end integration solutions

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to the Salesforce development team on technical and functional design aspects of Salesforce implementations

  • Evaluate new Salesforce releases and features, providing recommendations for process improvements

  • Ensure Salesforce solutions align with security and data compliance standards

Job Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)

Experience:

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in Information Technology and/or Systems Application Development related roles

  • Minimum 4 years in a Salesforce architecture role

  • Salesforce certifications such as Salesforce Certified Application Architect, or Salesforce Certified System Architect preferred

  • Proven experience as a Salesforce Technical Architect in complex environments, ideally within the transportation or logistics industry

  • Strong knowledge of Salesforce configuration, Apex programming, Lightning components, and integrations (REST/SOAP APIs)

  • Experience with Release Management, Source Control, and Deployment concepts and technologies such as ANT, SFDC Metadata API, GitHub, Azure DevOps CI/CD Pipelines

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical ideas and high-level concepts and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, guiding and mentoring developers

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering business value

Compensation Range:

The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.

($102,636-$128,295)
