What a Dock Worker will do: 
  • Ensure that all bills of materials, routings, and documentation work are complete and accurate
  • Ensure the accuracy of FFT inventory through proper receipt, keying, and recording of product movement
  • Pull and record products for delivery to and return from the manufacturing floor or shipments
  • Help rectify inventory problems
  • Load and unload incoming and outgoing trucks
  • Receive, ship, and move products in the manufacturing software system
  • Conduct daily cycle count
  • Communicate with manager, purchasing, and other departments to resolve shipment/receipt problems, lot problems, and quantity issues
  • Print box labels, production shipping labels, customer labels, small package system labels, and skid labels
  • Effectively present information to other employees of the organization, and to truck drivers that are picking up or delivering freight

What you need to be a Dock Worker: 
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Manufacturing software system knowledge
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50-100 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations
